Purpose
The summer enrichment camp is designed to provide a different approach to learning in order to stimulate a different response
from students who are considered at or below grade-level.

Goals
1. Provide a positive learning experience for Halifax County students during the summer.
2. Enhance the learning opportunities for Halifax County students by providing a camp experience.
3. Motivate students to become advocates for their communities that are located in Halifax County.
4. Increase student knowledge about Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics within Halifax County.
5. Develop an idea of citizenship within the students of Halifax County.
Outcomes
1. Students will experience positive learning experiences during the 3-week S.T.E.M. camp.
2. Students will participate and complete learning activities that will enhance their cognitive development in the areas of
science, technology, engineering, mathematics, relationships and community.
3. Students will research and learn about the history of Halifax County schools and their communities.
4. Students will develop peer relationships that will foster community in the upcoming school year.
5. Students will receive additional support in the fundamental skills for reading and mathematics.
